I'm Pierre, an economics and finance student at UQAM. Before going back to school, I spent several years founding and running my own construction businesses — managing budgets, contracts, and the kind of financial decisions that don't wait for a textbook explanation first.
That experience left me with a strong opinion: most economic and financial concepts that sound intimidating aren't actually complicated. They're just explained by people who forgot what it was like not to already know them. A rate decision, an earnings report, a currency move — each one usually comes down to a handful of ideas that make sense once someone takes the time to walk through them plainly.
Markets in Plain is my attempt to be that explanation. Every article takes one story from the news and breaks it down the way I'd explain it to a friend over coffee — no prerequisites, no jargon left undefined, no assumption that you already follow financial media closely.
